Bachelors of Christian Education (BCE)

Vision: A model of excellence in education and discipling the children for the Lord Jesus as they are in schools through trained “Missionary-Teachers.”

Mission Statement: NEITA exists to equip missionary-teachers to engage in schools to offer excellent education and Christ to every child.

Purpose: To Disciple the children and to equip them though quality school education by adequately trained missionary-teachers.

Objectives:
(1) To produce minimum 100 teachers in the next 10 years who would be able to produce Christ-like children with outstanding educational input;
(2) To reach out the families through the children – 10 families by each trained teacher in a year;
(3) To distinguish “Christ-Centered Education” in NE India.

Uniqueness of the Programs: Designed to impact the students with the skills and knowledge that will allow them to become competent and effective educators and dedicated “disciple makers.” This program focuses on elementary student learning by developing the skills of the educator and missionary responsible for that learning. Student teaching is an integral component of the program. It provides students with a field-based experience at the appropriate grade and content level.

1. Eligibility for Admission to this Course.
i. The candidate who have undergone 10 (High) +2 (Pre-degree) or 11 (High) +1 (Pre-degree) together12 years of study from grade I and passed in the examinations conducted by their respective State Board or CBSE or ISSC or any other recognized Board of Education by their respective states.

ii. Candidates who have earned UG or PG degrees in open university systems of any recognized universities that are approved by UGC without the foresaid prerequisites of column (i) as above.

iii. Candidates who have Bachelors degree from other institutions other than the universities recognized by UGC.

2. Eligibility of Marks in +2 / 11+1 system for Candidates seeking Admission to B. Th.

50% Minimum for Other Castes (OC)

45% Minimum for Backward Castes (BC)

40% Minimum for Schedule Castes and Tribes (SC/ST)

Minimum passing mark will be considered for the Physically challenged candidates

3. Duration of the Course
The course of study shall be for duration of three academic years consisting of minimum 320 days in total in a year including field education, study holidays, and examinations / excluding study holidays and examinations 274 curriculum transaction days or 1918 hours at the rate of seven hours a day for six days a week. The working days include teaching practice, revision examinations, and study holidays.
